The second annual Power, Promise & Possibility Conference About Girls will
take place at Sonoma State University (Rohnert Park, CA-about 1 hour north of
San Francisco) on Saturday, October 25, 1997. This year's conference is
entitled, "Beyond Guns and Dolls: Unraveling the Gender Knot."
David Sadker, co-author of Failing at Fairness and Professor of Education at
The American University, and Phyllis Lerner, gender equity consultant, will
conduct a full-day training for educators, parents, school counselors, health
professionals and social service providers.
The conference is being sponsored by the Project on Girls and Women, Sonoma
State University. The fee is $50.00, and includes lunch and materials. A
reduced fee of $35.00 is available to registered students (show I.D. at
conference registration). 7 ceu's will be available for an additional cost of
$25.00, payable separately at the conference.
