Joy, The letter we got from the USDE said that Congress didn't meet the
President's budget request ($4 million) as anticipated, so there is not
enough money for new grants. The House and Senate versions differed; one
appropriated $2 million and one $4 million. I haven't seen the final
figures, but it looks as if the lower amount or a compromise less that
$4million was reached. Does anyone have the final Ed Budget figures? I
haven't heard anything back from calls to the Appropriations Committee.
