>invites applications for the position of WA State Program Coordinator.
>This position reports to the Western Region Campus Compact
>Consortium/Continuums of Service grant Program Director and is
>responsible
>for managing approximately 9 federal mini-grants.
>
>The Position. The Washington State Program Coordinator will manage
>approximately 9 Learn and Serve: Higher Education mini-grants that will
>provide training and technical assistance to higher education
>institutions
>in the state of Washington. The purpose of the grant is to build
>programs
>that strengthen the service ethic on higher education campuses across
>the
>Western region. Working as part of a team, s/he will develop and
>implement
>program timelines, issue requests for proposals to state institutions,
>coordinate selection processes, develop and deliver training and
>technical
>assistance services, develop and implement program assessment tools,
>conduct site visits, write progress reports, and be responsible for
>meeting
>all state program objectives. S/he will also be responsible for
>supervising work-study students. This position requires regular
>in-state
>and occasional out-of-state travel. The Washington State Program
>Coordinator will be responsible for managing a $140,000 annual budget.
>The
>Coordinator will attend state grantee meetings and represent Campus
>Compact
>at regional and state events.
>
>The Institution. Western Washington University is a comprehensive
>university of approximately 11,600 students and 1,700 employees located
>on
>a beautiful campus overlooking Bellingham Bay. The city of Bellingham
>is
>approximately 90 miles north of Seattle and 60 miles south of Vancouver,
>British Columbia.

>Qualifications.
>=B7 Knowledgeable in the pedagogy of service-learning and in managing
>service-learning programs. Higher education pref.
>=B7 Experience in supervising students and working in a fast-paced
>environment.
>=B7 Understanding of National Service Programs.
>=B7 Skilled in training and development both in small and large group
>settings.
>=B7 Computer literacy, able to travel, possesses strong written and verbal
>skills and is able to work within deadlines.
>=B7 Prior fiscal experience
>=B7 BA/BS required.
>
>This is a P/T administrative exempt position. Annual salary: DOE.
>Excellent benefits package is included. This position is grant funded

>subject to the restrictions of a Learn and Serve: Higher Education grant
>from the Corporation for National Service. Grant period is 9/97 through
>9/98. The grant is renewable for two (2) additional years. Committee
