Announcing Two 1998 Summer Workshops on Teasing and Bullying
Sponsored by the Center for Research on Women at Wellesley College

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday
June 23, 24, 25, 26, 1998 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advanced Training on "Bullyproof: A Teacher's Guide on Teasing and Bullying for
use with 4th and 5th Grade Students" (June 23 only).

Overview: Join co-authors Nan Stein and Nancy Mullin-Rindler for a one day in-
depth workshop. Drawing from teacher feedback from past workshops, this session
will include adapting and expanding "Bullyproof" lessons; talking to parents
about teasing and bullying; and an update on research and resources.

Who Should Attend: This session is desigend for teachers who have previously
participated in "Bullyproof" training sessions or who are using the curriculum.

"Confronting Teasing and Bullying in the Elementary Grades: A Curriculum
Approach" (June 24, 25, 26 only).

Overview: Join Nancy Mullin-Rindler for a one-day workshop to explore
curriculum strategies for teaching elementary students about teasing and
bullying.

Who Should Attend: This workshop is designed for K through 5th grade teachers,
curriculum and violence prevention specialists, school counselors, social
workers and principals.

Registration for all sessions: Tuition is $150 including lunch and materials.
Payment is required with registration. Discount of 20 percent available for
groups of 5 or more enrolling together from the same school district.

Wellesley College Center for Research on Women is a Massachusetts Department of
Education Professional Development provider. Particpants will receive 6 hours
of professional development points for either workshop.

Pre-conference materials will be sent as soon as registration is received--apply
early.

Registration deadline: May 29 (enrollment limited)
Sessions will be held at the Wellesley College Club in Wellesley, MA
