Getting back to work

Does anyone have information on resources for helping women who have been
out of the work force for a few years get back in? It seems after taking
time off to raise a family, I have faced more discrimination trying to get
back into a full-time position than at any other time in my life. I can get
free lance writing work and other part-time work or consulting, but can't
even seem to get in the door for a full-time position. Has anyone else
faced this problem, or know of good resources on it? Thanks...

BTW, I'm a software engineer, and very tired of hearing about the shortage
of engineers in this country. I also went back to school and picked up an
MBA while I was a "stay at home mom". I have written a book about the
Internet, and keep up my technical skills. So what does it take to be taken
seriously in the full-time world?
