I want to share with you a new equity resource, an equity CD-ROM titled "Making
Schools Work for Every Child" from the Eisenhower Consortia and Clearinghouse.
On the CD are Stories and Cases, Equity Materials, Community Building
Activities, Self-Assessment Tools, and a Resource Finder.

The Stories and Cases are real stories, vignettes, and cases and reflection
questions focused on innovative programs and educators working to meet the needs
of the underserved populations. Video clips of these programs are included as
are hot buttons to articles (complete) in the Equity Materials section.

The Equity Materials are complete articles reprinted from the Eisenhower
Consortia's Equity Resource Guide. Also included are WEb Resources, Email Lists,
Projects, State Frameworks, and other materials related to equity.

The Community Building section includes activities to assist educators to
develop partnerships with community and parent members.

Many tools to help you reflect on your own beliefs about equity are found in the
Self-Assessment section. Activities are drawn from the Equity Toolkit:
Connecting with the Learner developed by the North Central Regional Educational
Laboratory. Checklists for use in examining classroom practice are especially
useful for teachers.

The Resource Finder leads you to the ERIC resources and activities from various
sources and how to obtain them.

You can obtain copies of this CD by contacting your Eisenhower Consortia for
Mathematics and Science or the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse. They are
available to you at no cost.
