Here is another fairly comprehensive paper talking about the forces
that keep women out of the technology fields. I want to stress the
importance of this as an equity issue because it appears that technology
skills are going to be the gatekeeper of the future just as math has
been in the past. Women are beginning to hold their own in the math
arena but it seems that society has found a new way to keep women second
