It seems that most people in this forum agree that women are extremely
vulnerable to social and cultural influences. For instance, in a few
recent posts, we have been told that women will not go into technological
disciplines because the words being used in those disciplines don't
correspond to the way they've been socialized.

Last I heard, most women still married men who earn more than they do,
even when they earn a good salary. I agree that some socialization
patterns are very old, but those patterns are still very much alive.
