If my pay were changed to the average salary received by a person
with a Master's Degree (in New Mexico, not the entire US), I would
get a raise of about 60 percent. And that is not even counting the
fact that I have ten years of experience with this school district.

And the average person works about 2,000 hours during one year.
I always work at least 2,000 hours in the ten months of teaching.
Average would do fine for me.
