I have to take exception with the US being a more violent country--I don't
know anyone who carries a handgun either. I do know hunters, but no one I
know very well has a hand gun laying around. When we look at the violence
all over the world we have to look at countries like Bosnia, Algeria,
Rowanda--these are just a few examples of ongoing devastating
violence--maybe we the US are more violent than some of our European
counterparts today (with the exception of WWII and 6 million dead) but I
think you Australians watch too many Hollywood movies. I will agree we
don't do as well as you all since we don't have the gun control laws
Australia has but we are not all gun toting violence mongers.
