HARVARD EDUCATION LETTER FOCUSES ON BILINGUAL EDUCATION

The May/June issue of "The Harvard Education Letter" is devoted
almost exclusively to issues of bilingual education. "The
Bilingual Education Debate" gives a concise overview of the
evidence for and against the use of bilingual programs, with a
brief summary of relevant research and a description of the
primary instructional models. A second article presents the
perspectives of those on both sides of the debate, including Ron
Unz, Rosalie Porter, and Kenji Hakuta. Excerpts from the two
