President's initiative on school discipline

Today President Clinton announced that he will convene a White House conference
on school discipline. Please contact him via e-mail at
<http://www.whitehouse.gov/WH/Mail/html/Mail_President.html> to thank him and
ask him to include sexual harassment and assault as a part of deliberations on
that initiative. As most of you know, students experience harassment and even
assault daily, making some school environments unfriendly at best and places
where it's impossible to learn for some students. Educators spend an
incredible amount of time on prevention, intervention and investigation of
incidents, but many do not know what to do about stopping incidents and
changing the school climate.
