"Building Personal and Professional Competency in a Multicultural Society"

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Evelyn DeHart, Professor of History and
Director of the Center for Studies of Ethnicity and Race in America at the
University of Colorado at Boulder. Her topic, "Rethinking America: The
Politics of Multiculturalism," will discuss why diversity is such a
contentious and controversial issue in contemporary America. The talk will
explore this apparent paradox by re-examining the history of the United
States from multiple perspectives.
Four and two day courses will include workshops on Training of Diversity
Trainers, Exploring our Cultural Assumptions, Building Cultural Competency,
Personal Growth on Matters of Race and Racism, Leadership Enhancement of
Diverse Populations within the Context of Management Development,
Cross-Cultural Conflict Resolution, and Proactive Strategies for
Affirmative Action and Diversity Recruitment in Higher Education
Admissions.
