In the west there's the practice of dressing twins alike, or
even worse - mother and child matching outfits. Similarly my
parents standard punishment was to be sent to our rooms -
which I loved as I could read uninterrupted (my mother
usually hated to see me 'doing nothing') - my brother hated
this punishment as he was active and loved football etc. So,
the punishment was effective for him but more like a reward
for me.
