I suggest getting a copy of "Connections Across Cultures: Inviting
Multiple Perspectives into Classrooms of Science, Technology, Math and
Engineering", an NSF-funded project offering easy-to-use strategies for
changing the classroom environment. Connections empowers teachers to
change science education (or math or technology education) to better
engage underrepresented students.
