I've found lots of great ideas and approaches in a publication entitled "A
Great Balancing Act: Equitable Education for Girls and Boys" (1997) by
Anne Chapman. Published by the National Association of Independent
Schools. The section on the formal curriculum is great. Its orientation is
inclusivity. While this is primarily a gender approach to discussions of
positive things parents and educators can do, it applies in many ways to
Title VI concerns, too.
