I am sad to see the message that we have lost another champion fighter for
gender equity and against sexism, racism and homophobia. MN Teacher of the Year
in 1990, co director of the Minnesota Inclusiveness Program and the national
SEED project in MN (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity), Cathy Nelson has
died in a tragic carbon monoxide accident. She was 45, and in the midst of
preparing for her seventh SEED cohort's winter conference.
We will hold that conference, and then the week following plan a memorial for
January 16th at a site as yet undetermined. An untimely and tragic loss.
