For your information the Portland Power team was part of the American
Basketball League (ABL), a professional women's basketball league. The ABL was
recently shut down. The Connecticut Attorney General is looking into
possiblity that the NBA conspired to block the American Basketball League's
access to media and sponsors.

As explained at the above site, the NBA also has under its management the WNBA
(Women's National Basketball League) which has games throughout the summer. The
ABL held games during the same season as the NBA.
