The Ford Lincoln Mercury Minority Dealers Association (FLMMDA) will present
scholarships of $2,500 each to eight (8) African-American students along with
one (1) student for the William E. Shack, Jr. Scholarship and one (1) for the
G. Michael McDonald Scholarship at the 1999 FLMMDA Annual Conference in Orlando,
Florida on Friday, February26.

The Student should be planning to attend a historically Black college or
university in September 1999.
In an effort to locate these young people, the following criteria has been
developed for you to choose a recipient.

1. Student must be accepted by or are making application to a historically Black
college or university (Checks will be made payable to the school of their
choice).

2. Student must be in their senior year of high school and entering college by
the end of September 1999.
         
 3. Student must have a grade point average of at least 2.5 (out of a possible
4.0).

4. Student must exhibit a definite need; preferably from a single parent family.

5.The student participating should write a short essay, not more than 100 words
on: "Why I want to attend a historically Black college or university and what I
hope to achieve by doing so." Brief vitas, current address, phone number, social
security number, and a professional (2X2) photo, if possible, should be
forwarded to:

Ten (10) individuals will be selected on a first come first serve basis. The
recipients and their parent(s) will be invited to attend our Annual
Conference/Awards Banquet in Orlando, Florida as special guests.

Dealers who sponsor a student are expected to pay for airfare and hotel
accommodations for scholarship recipient and his/her parent(s).
