Join a discussion February 9 to 16 with: Yolanda Wu, senior
staff attorney, NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund;
Eleanor Linn, senior associate director, Programs for
Educational Opportunity, University of Michigan; and a
representative from the U.S. Department of Education's
Office for Civil Rights.

We have arranged for three experts on sexual harassment and
Title IX to participate in the next in our series of topical
discussions. The panel will address the current state of
the law, the prevalence of the problem, successful
strategies schools can adopt to combat sexual harassment,
and federal enforcement and prevention efforts. The panel
will include:

***Yolanda Wu, senior staff attorney, NOW Legal Defense and
Education Fund. Her article, "Trends in Sexual Harassment
Litigation Under Title IX," appears in the latest WEEA
Digest and is available on our web site
<www.edc.org/WomensEquity>. Please note that Ms. Wu will be
participating on Thursday and Friday, February 11th and 12th.

***Eleanor Linn, senior associate director, Programs for
Educational Opportunity, University of Michigan (the Region
V Equity Assistance Center serving Illinois, Indiana,
Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin). At the center,
Ms. Linn consults regularly with public school districts on
sexual harassment issues. She also has conducted research
examining who harasses and why.

***A representative from the U.S. Department of Education's
Office for Civil Rights, the federal agency with
responsibility for enforcing Title IX, will also join us for
the discussion.
