Conclusion of Sexual Harassment Dialogue

Hello Everyone:

We are now officially saying goodbye to our panelists for this Dialogue on
Sexual Harassment and Title IX. Many thanks to Eleanor Linn, Mary Jo McGrath,
Doreen Dennis, Lisa Battalia Anthony and Yolanda Wu for adding their expertise
and perspectives to this very informative discussion. The
panelists for our Dialogues volunteer their time and we are grateful for their
participation.

We also thank you, the members of EDEQUITY, for engaging in this discussion. As
Eleanor said in her closing statement, addressing sexual harassment requires a
multi-disciplinary approach and we have only just begun to examine the varied
aspects of this subject in our conversation over the past week. It is our hope
that this focused exchange of
information and views has helped answer some of your questions about the scope
of the problem, legal issues, federal enforcement efforts, and the reasons
students harass other students. More importantly, we hope you have learned some
effective practical strategies to combat sexual harassment in
schools. Please continue to share your insights and experiences to build on
this discussion on EDEQUITY.

WEEA will be exploring additional ways to disseminate what we have learned, and
to add to the broader discussion, using this Dialogue perhaps in an altered form
in print and on our web site. (The entire discussion can be read on our web
site at <www.edc.org/WomensEquity>). We will alert you as these new resources
become available.

We appreciate your continued participation on EDEQUITY.

Susan
