gender analysis for Filipino teachers

Hello EDEQUITY subscribers:
I am presently working in the Philippines and
have just committed to writing and presenting a workshop on being gender
sensitive as science, math, and technology public school teachers in
elementary and middle school classrooms. I am not from the Philippines and
feel the workshop must start where teachers are at on gender ( a place I
do not have full knowledge about). I have been told by many that "gender"
is not a significant issue here. I need practical ideas about how to go
about a gender analysis exercise BEFORE we proceed with a discussion of
strategies for HOW to be more gender sensitive as classroom teachers.

It is very difficult to obtain resources (articles, kits) from here; I have
contacted UN, ADB and the World Bank with little success. I have several
website addresses.

I am wondering if any subscribers can offer suggestions about how to
approach gender analysis with Filipino teachers... or can send info via
email that will be of some assistance.

Thank you very much for your time.
