Announcing FAMILY MATH: The Middle School Years
Algebraic Reasoning and Number Sense

August 5 -6, 1999 8:30am - 4:30pm each day
Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA

Co-sponsored by Columbia Family Math, Washington MESA, and Science and
Mathematics Consortium for Northwest Schools, this will be the first NW
regional workshop of this new FAMILY MATH program from EQUALS, Lawrence
Hall of Science, U.C. Berkeley. Workshop designed for teachers and parents
who wish to implement Family Math in their schools. School teams are
encouraged to come together. When two people from one school attend,
SMCNWS will pay for travel expenses for one plus double dorm room lodging
for two nights.

Spend two days:
- Engaged in algebraic reasoning and number sense activities.
- Learning how empower parents to support their children's math
achievement.
- Learning how to implement FAMILY MATH in your community.

Registration: $100.00 per person (includes Thurs. breakfast, lunch,
dinner; Friday breakfast and lunch, breaks, book and workshop materials)

Dorm lodging available at PLU for $15.75 per night per person, double
occupancy and $24.90 per night per person, single occupancy.
