Three articles in the current issue of Teacher Magazine are excellent and
practical examples of working approaches to equity. Teacher is at:

and the articles that relate to the discussions currently on-line are "Pride and
Prejudice," an article about one response to the unsafe hallways
scenario; "Mob Squad," which makes the "impossible" seem a realistic
approach to inclusion (as opposed to the hurtful cuts that plague most
discussions of substantial disproportionality in activities;) and "Girls
Byte Back" and a high tech skirmish in the gender wars.
These are all on-going approaches that have successful elements and well worth
looking at and applying locally.
