Not the greatest comments from me, but I am forwarding all of your great
thoughts to the station manager of our local public television station
(which is in the middle of a fundraising drive.)

Subject: Title IX in Sports and the War on Boys Programs

Please forward this email to the people creating the series of programs
I mention.

When I see how you are framing the issues relating to boys and
education, I wonder if there isn't some sort of bias imbedded in the
very premise. What is wrong with Title IX?...the WAR on boys? Indeed,
there is something wrong. And our boys do need our attention, concern
and help, but do you mean to raise this awareness by attacking the law
(however weak it is) that has really made a difference in the
educational opportunities for girls and women? (And I would add, raised
the awareness that sex role stereotyping hurts boys too.) Do you mean =
to frame this as a competition, where only one sex can win? How sad that PBS
would support such a dialog.
