Heterosexism is discrimination against gay people, or assuming that
hetersexism is the "norm" or preferred way to be. This can include spreading
myths about gay people, discriminating in hiring, gay bashing (verbally or
physically beating someone up because they are gay). But as in sexism and
racism, it can also include out and out ignoring of gay peoples' existance, is
it seems is the case with that textbook.
