Scholarships

Thanks to generous funding from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and others to be announced, we are able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships consisting of either or both conference registration and lodging at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Preference will go to those selected as conference presenters and those working in community-based agencies. We also seek to achieve a diverse audience for this conference.

To apply for a scholarship, email a request to Tom Colthurst at tcolthurst@ucsd.edu. Your letter should describe your work and your need for partial assistance. Note whether you qualify for either or both of the preference categories -- conference presenter; working in a community-based agency.

Please state if you are requesting a conference registration scholarship (fee waiver) or lodging scholarship (shared double guest room at the Royal Sonesta for up to three nights beginning on Thursday, March 13, 2003) or both.

Include with your letter:

  1. Full contact information so we can reach you quickly with our determination.

  2. Statement (file attachment to email) from your home organization or other source of travel support that, if awarded a partial scholarship, you will have transportation support to and from Boston.

The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday, January 31, however earlier submission is advised. We will begin announcing awards, based on available resources, on a progressive basis, i.e., as requests received, especially for those in the conference presenter preference category.

If any questions or concerns, please contact Tom Colthurst by email at tcolthurst@ucsd.edu.
