Child Transportation Safety Tips

At a March 24th community forum held at a health clinic in Boston, the Healthy Start Initiative and Boston Children's Hospital, through a collaborative effort with NHTSA, introduced six new versions of the NHTSA Child Transportation Safety Tips. The Tips, which NHTSA previously offered only in English and Spanish, were translated, using local funding, into Russian, Haitian Creole, French, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and Portuguese. The variety of languages was determined by the Healthy Start Initiative as necessary to more effectively serve ethnic populations in Boston. The Tips will be reproduced by NHTSA for national distribution. NHTSA hopes that this project will serve as a model and that other organizations will translate the Tips into languages reflecting the populations that make up their communities.
