Synthesis and Dissemination of Best Practices in Campus Mental Health

This project is a joint effort led by the CCHS in collaboration with EDC’s Suicide Prevention Resource Center and the Jed Foundation, with consultation provided by the American College Health Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators. The project will produce a publication describing a framework and recommended strategies for improving campus mental health practices. The publication will incorporate findings from a review of the literature on campus mental health issues and interventions, a survey of campus best practices, and specific campus case studies. It will provide campuses guidance on the adoption of broad-based efforts that enhance protective factors for all students and create an environment in which high-risk students are identified, where mental health is de-stigmatized, where help-seeking is encouraged and supported, and where adequate resources exist to meet the wide-ranging needs of at-risk students, including effective mental health treatments.
