The PLG Award Program

For Vision and Leadership in Responding to Alcohol- and Other Drug-Related Problems on Campus

Note: CCHS is not currently accepting PLG Award applications.

Goals

The goal of the Presidents Leadership Group (PLG) Awards program is to annually recognize a single college or university president who has taken an active role in addressing alcohol and other drug problems on his or her campus and in the larger community.

Criteria

The Center for College Health and Safety will present the PLG award to a college or university president who is able to demonstrate his or her leadership by putting into action the PLG’s 13 recommendations for effective prevention. Applicants need not demonstrate that they have adopted all of the recommendations. The award will be presented on the basis of past efforts, not future plans.

Required Application Materials

Interested presidents are asked to submit the following:

There is no application fee.
All applications will be acknowledged within 21 days of receipt.

Center staff may wish to communicate with the president’s office for further clarification as needed in determining eligibility for an award.

The award recipient will be asked to assist in efforts to garner press attention for the receipt of the award.

Presidents Leadership Group membership is not a criterion for eligibility—all presidents may apply.
