State University of New York, Cortland
Previously, while at the West Virginia University of Parkersburg, President
Erik Bitterbaum actively pursued
change on his campus and in his community in an effort to curb high-risk drinking
and substance abuse. His administration is currently in the process of forming
an active community group to address alcohol issues. He has ensured the existence,
accessibility, and quality of alcohol education presentations and awareness
programs on campus. President Bitterbaum has also contributed to the development
of alcohol-free social activities, as well as programs like the Clothesline
Project and the Silent Witness Program that raise awareness about the interplay
between alcohol abuse and domestic violence.
