Coker College
James Dawson,
President of Coker College, has demonstrated strong initiative and leadership
in collegiate alcohol prevention. In his previous appointment as president
of Tennessee Wesleyan College, he was an outspoken and visible advocate for
change. As he now assumes the presidency of Coker College, he continues to
support alcohol prevention efforts. In addition to supporting on-campus education
programs, President Dawson recently addressed the United Methodist Church’s
Institute of Higher Education on how to change the culture of student drinking
in a presentation entitled, "Be Vocal, Be Visible, Be Visionary."
As President Dawson continues to serve as an active and dynamic leader in
the effort to ensure the health and safety of college students, he remains
a valued member of our Presidents Leadership Group.
