Lehigh University
President
Gregory Farrington has actively pursued alcohol prevention during his tenure
at Lehigh University. He has addressed the problem head on, working closely
with the Student Affairs Provosts overseeing the "A Matter of Degree"
program to develop a comprehensive initiative to reduce high-risk drinking.
He contributed to a paper entitled, "A Call to Action," declaring
the "status quo" of alcohol abuse at Lehigh to be no longer permissible.
He has taken full advantage of the visibility his position, using every opportunity
to remind both students and parents of the dangers of alcohol and of Lehigh’s
stringent alcohol policy, and supporting the creation of a college environment
that discourages high-risk drinking. He continues to be an active and outspoken
advocate for change on the Lehigh University campus and is a valued member
of the Presidents Leadership Group.
President Farrington has also been involved in:
