President Ann Weaver Hart of the University of New Hampshire has met the charge to be vocal, visible, and visionary on the issue of AOD use and its effects on students and the university at large. President Hart believes that AOD abuse on campus are not simply the issues of the substance abuser, but are indicative of greater institutional philosophies.
President Hart’s efforts include extensive outreach to diverse constituencies including those on campus, board of trustee members, and state legislators. President Hart’s work includes sponsorship for the first student-initiated summit on responsible celebrations, a University-wide Study Circles project on alcohol, and an administrative effort to change alcohol policies to sorority and fraternity social events limit the availability of alcohol.
