Before Donald J. Mash retired as president of University of Wisconsin, Eau
Claire, he actively promoted a healthier campus through:
- Sending a personal
letter to each student addressing community responsibility and AOD issues
- Communicating
with parents about importance of AOD prevention through the University
Parent Newsletter
- Chairing the UWI System AODA Committee. This committee approved
a comprehensive plan in May of 2002
- Appointing a University Task Force comprised
of students, faculty, staff and community members which:
- Researches and assesses campus AOD use
- Implements education and awareness
programs for students and faculty/staff
- Sponsors acohol-free activities
and programs
- Works with city and local
law enforcement
