Project Detail

Media and Digital Design Curriculum

EDC is working with ConnectEd: The California Center for College and Careers, with support from The James Irvine Foundation, to develop a curriculum for career sector academies in California public high schools. This project focuses on the arts, media and entertainment (AME) sector. EDC is working closely with practitioners, higher education, and California schools to develop two foundations courses—in Visual Arts and Media and Digital Design, as well as model integrated units in mathematics, social studies, science and English/language arts that demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills from academic disciplines to AME professions. This project-based approach incorporates pedagogies to support 21st century skills, as well as career exploration and work-based learning to prepare students for post-secondary education and careers.
