Implementing the ITCCI Development Model
One of the main goals of the ITCC Initiative was to build the capacity of each pilot site and their respective state to implement the IT Career Development Model.
The project team at EDC developed a capacity building technical assistance strategy that included tools to help pilot sites and states assess the current standing of their IT programs in relation to the national model and to develop an action plan for implementing the national model. Each site received a customized TA plan based on their needs assessment, and online courses and in-person learning institutes were offered as additional training in scenario-based lesson development.
The EDC team also conducted site visits and meetings with pilot site and state representatives to review the sites' action plans and assist with their implementation. As the pilot sites and states progressed in their implementation of the national model, several vehicles were used to share information and ideas across the project:
- A Website (EWIT)
- A project web-board
- Bi-monthly conference call-ins
- Various Listservs for state representatives and project participants
