Dr. John E. Ellershaw, MA, FRCP

John Ellershaw has been Medical Director at the Marie Curie Centre Liverpool and Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital since 1994. He has undertaken an MA in the Philosophy of Health Care and his areas of research interest include ethical issues in palliative care and care of the dying patient.

Dr. Ellershaw is an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and is actively involved in the development of the new medical undergraduate curriculum, including the palliative care contribution. Dr. Ellershaw also spends one month every year working in Rotterdam as Visiting Professor based at the Erasmus University.
