Mary T. Marshall, OBE

Professor Mary Marshall has worked with older people for more than 25 years, as a social worker, lecturer, researcher and voluntary organization manager. She is now director of the Dementia Services Development Centre, which exists to extend and improve services for people with dementia and their carers. Previously, she directed Age Concern Scotland and was a member of the Royal Commission on long term care for the elderly. She has written and edited several books about working with older people and about dementia care. Professor Marshall was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in the 1997 Honour's List.
