Ann Goldman, MB, FRCP

Dr. Ann Goldman is a pediatrician specializing in palliative care at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London, England. Her background is in pediatric oncology but for the last ten years her particular interest has been the development of palliative care for children. She established the Symptom Care Team in the hematology and oncology department which in 1994 won the Hospital Doctor Award for Innovative Team of the Year. Dr. Goldman is involved in clinical care for children and their families, research and teaching. She has written a variety of articles in journals and edited the book Care of the Dying Child (Oxford University Press). She is currently involved in the development of palliative care services for children nationally in the United Kingdom and is vice chairman of ACT (The Association for Children with Life-Threatening or Terminal Conditions and their Families). Dr. Goldman was also instrumental in the development of The Child Death Helpline, a national helpline for anyone affected by the death of a child, and staffed by bereaved parents.
