Innovations in End-of-Life Care

Leslie Blackhall, MD, MTS

Dr. Blackhall is the Medical Director of Assisted Home Hospice and a fellow at the Pacific Center for Health Policy and Ethics at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. She has studied Tibetan Medicine in India and the United States, and received her Masters of Theological Studies from the Harvard Divinity School, where she studied cross-cultural and historical aspects of medical ethics. She is a nationally known expert on the care of dying patients and has spoken to physicians and other health professionals across the country on the practical, ethical and spiritual aspects of death and dying. Her research includes a study of the attitudes of differing ethnic groups towards death and dying.
