Mimi Pattison, MD

Dr. Pattison is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is also an EPEC trained physician (Education for Physicians on End of Life Care) She is highly respected for her knowledge as she offers Continuing Medical Education sessions using the EPEC curriculum. Besides maintaining a busy private medical practice, Dr. Pattison is the Medical Director for Palliative Care Services and Improving Care Through the End of Life for Franciscan Health Systems, which includes three hospitals, two long term care facilities, hospice, and alliance with seven primary care community clinics. She is chair of the Franciscan Regional Ethics Committee and Board President of Compassionate Choices, a statewide, non-profit, community based organization that offers referrals to supportive services for patients with serious or life threatening illness. In addition, Dr. Pattison is Medical Director for Manor Care, a long term, skilled nursing and specialty care unit facility.

Georganne Trandum, RN, OCN

Ms. Trandum is a certified oncology and bone marrow transplant registered nurse and has considerable experience in pain management and bedside, end-of-life care. She is an eight-year member of the Franciscan Health Systems West Regional Ethics Committee and is immediate past Chair of the Regional Ethics Educational Committee. Ms. Trandum was the collaborative leader of the Improving Care Through the End of Life Study (July 1997-July 1998) and is now Director of the local and nationally expanding program. She has authored a 13-chapter training manual and database, both entitled Improving Care Through the End of Life and both of which are being utilized in new program settings. She consults, advocates, educates and speaks to groups of healthcare professionals and students both regionally and nationally about improving end-of-life care. Ms. Trandum has degrees in education, sociology and nursing, and is currently studying for a Masters in Business Administration.
