Barbara Hanna, MD

Dr. Hanna serves as director of the AIDS Service Center (ASC), a stand-alone, not-for-profit HIV/AIDS community-based organization and medical clinic, in Anniston, Alabama. The US Department of Health and Human Resources, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded ASC as one of its six Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) palliative care grants.

Dr. Hanna worked for ten years as an infectious disease specialist on the faculty of Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her BA from Vassar College and her MD from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Hanna completed her residency and infectious disease fellowship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She now lives in Anniston with her husband who is a general internist and their six children.
