Melodie Heland, RN, MN

Melodie Heland Photo Melodie Heland, RN, MN has been a registered nurse in Melbourne, Australia for 20 years. She is passionate about ethical practice in health care and is the current chairperson of the Patient Care Ethics Committee at her institution, Austin Health, a tertiary teaching hospital of 700 beds. In 2002, Melodie was the project officer involved in the successful introduction of the Respecting Choices® program to Austin Health. She is now in a new position as the nurse manager of the Intensive Care Unit at Austin Health. Her education background includes a graduate diploma in health administration and a master’s of nursing. Through her management and leadership role, Melodie intends to continue the implementation of innovative programs that bring a greater humanistic perspective to care of people in the tertiary hospital setting.
