Guided Tour

You see the Mathematics Problems main search screen. There are seven ways to start searching:

Mathematics Problems Main Search Page

Topics
Habits of Mind
Mathematics Background
Technology
Duration
Keyword
Date

If you click one of the 5 orange buttons beneath "Select Problems from a List Of:", you will see a list of search criteria from which you can choose. For example, if you click Topics, you’ll see a list of topics. (Some definitions may be helpful: Habits of Mind are similar to problem-solving strategies. Mathematics Background describes the preparation your students should have before tackling a problem. Technology includes tools, manipulatives, handheld devices, and computer technologies. Duration defines the time required to complete a problem.)

For Keyword and Date, you can type your search criteria directly into the boxes provided.

Suppose that you are a teacher looking for problems for tomorrow’s lesson on operations with radicals. There are at least two ways you can find Problems with a Point for your lesson: you can search by by keyword or by topic. (There are many other ways to search, too, but we’ll discuss those later.)

Next Page Click the Topics button to search by topic.
