Add Your Own Problem

We look forward to seeing your favorite mathematics problems or sequences of problems! We hope that dedicated and talented mathematics teachers and enthusiasts around the world will share their favorites here. If you want, we will acknowledge you as a contributor to Problems with a Point if we use your submissions.

We have tried to make our submission process easy. Please follow the instructions below to submit mathematics problems to Problems with a Point.

Instructions

Make sure to include all of the following information with your submission (problems with incomplete information cannot be published).

Step 1: The Problem(s)

Please write the problem(s) clearly and carefully.

You may use any software you wish to write the problem (for example, AppleWorks, Microsoft Word, Mathematica, or any other software). You may also use any software you wish to include artwork, if any, for the problem.

If the problem recommends that students use manipulatives, spreadsheets, geometry software, symbolic manipulation software, or other technologies, please make these requirements explicit by summarizing them at the end of the problem.

If you have answers, hints, or notes about solving the problem, please forward them to us as well.

Step 2: Your Information

Please be sure to include the following information with your problem:
Your full name
Your school organization (if any)
Your postal mailing address
Your electronic mail address

Step 3: Contributor Status

If Education Development Center, Inc. uses your submission, would you like us to list you as a contributor to Problems with a Point? Please indicate Yes or No.

Step 4: Source of the Problem

Please indicate one of the following sources of the problem:

  • Problem was adapted from another source (please provide as much detail as possible, including the source).
  • Problem is commonly known.
  • You are the source of the problem (you wrote the problem by yourself).
  • Other source (please specify).

Step 5: Where to Submit Your Problem

Please send your submissions (including the source of each problem and your information) to Education Development Center, Inc. at one of the addresses below:
