2004 National CTCNet Conference in Seattle, Washington. Over
the last three years, ScienceQuest has worked with over 60 individual
CTCs nationwide to create after school programs that inspire
enthusiasm and interest in science and technology among under-represented
youth.

Benefits
ScienceQuest invites representatives from up to fifteen CTCs to
participate in our training program. Each will receive the following:
- A
comprehensive process for engaging kids
- How
to Do It Guide & Tool Kit;
- A
CD of templates and reproducible materials;
- Web
site building and hosting services for one year
- Access
to live support, including an on-call science
specialist;
- Regular
conference calls with a network of experienced ScienceQuest partners;
- A
help-line for advice and assistance; and
- Subscription
to the ScienceQuest discussion list

The first step
is to apply. Submit the simple application, explaining who you are,
how SQ fits into your CTC programs, and how it will be implemented.

Teams
Successful
teams:
- Exist
in urban and rural locations
- Have
devoted coaches who are comfortable with science, but not necessarily
experts
- Are
supported by the CTC coordinator who keeps everyone organized
- Have
a plan for recruiting kids, scheduling meetings and finding resources
