Friends of ScienceQuest

ScienceQuest volunteers come from all communities, age groups, professions, and racial backgrounds. They are parents, retired scientists, prospective teachers, college students, and community members. Volunteers, however, do not have to be "science experts."

ScienceQuest provides young adolescents (aged 10 - 14) in urban areas with adult role models who are generous, fun, and willing to share their interests and skills. Over the last year, colleges students from MIT and Northeastern University have volunteered as adult coaches, a graphic design intern has created original artwork for posters, and a 6th grade teacher has researched and gathered scientific activities for teams. Whether you have a desire to lead a team of kids through an investigation, serve as a college campus organizer, or support teams from behind-the-scenes, there's a place for everyone in ScienceQuest. As a friend of ScienceQuest, you will also meet others with similar interests and share your enthusiasm for promoting science and technology learning.

ScienceQuest staff will work with you to develop a volunteer program that meets your needs, interests, and time commitment.
