Why Support ScienceQuest?

ScienceQuest supporters come from all backgrounds. They are retired scientists, parents, church members, potential teachers, and high tech professionals. ScienceQuest surrounds young urban adolescents with role models (both men and women) who are competent, generous, and willing to share their interests and skills. Sometimes role models work with kids as coaches, other times, they work behind the scenes to ensure that the program runs smoothly. ScienceQuest team members need you to support their teams. As a volunteer, you will meet peers with a similar desire to get kids interested in science and technology.

No matter your interests, skills, or time commitment, we will work with you to develop a volunteer program that meets your needs best.

Benefits of supporting ScienceQuest include:

  • Flexible volunteer schedule
  • Experience working with youth in informal science settings
  • Networking opportunities with volunteers, and community resources such as local science museums, businesses, and governments
  • Experience teaching technology to youth
  • Access to our "Tech Doctor" hotline and web development materials
  • Invitations to participate in workshops on the ScienceQuest I-Search process
  • Access to the ScienceQuest Online Resource Center (Online Resources), a database of educational support materials
  • Ongoing professional development activities such as technology trainings
  • Support from one of the world's leading nonprofit organizations in education research and development.
