Linda Langford, Sc.D.
Principal Investigator

Dr. Langford holds a doctorate in behavioral science from the Harvard School of Public Health. Her work has focused on use of the mass media to promote behavior change and new social policy, collaborative projects between advocates and researchers, and evaluation of programs and policies. She has worked in a variety of substantive areas, including domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health and AIDS. In addition to serving as the Principal Investigator for SNAPPY, she is an Associate Director for the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention at Education Development Center. She currently teaches in the health communications program at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Deborah Peterson, MBA, M.Ed
Project Coordinator

Deborah Peterson coordinated and managed a network of community mental health and alcoholism services where she helped develop innovative approaches partnering the state with community organizations. Recently leaving middle school teaching after ten years, her children grown, she keeps in touch with youth through community work and the SNAPPY program.

Lisa Stone, MD, MPH
Community Liaison

Dr. Stone lives in Wellesley and is the parent of three teenagers. As a member of the Wellesley Board of Health and the community drug and alcohol prevention coalition, Dr. Stone has focused on reducing adolescent risk behavior, especially underage drinking. She developed a successful community wide study circle program to address the impact of alcohol on a community and a curriculum on alcohol that is taught in the tenth grade at WHS. Most recently, she collaborated with EDC to develop the proposal for the SNAPPY study.
